Dorrigo Plateau: Plan, Prepare, Connect Event

Residents of the Dorrigo Plateau are invited to gather together and finetune your community's readiness for disasters and extreme weather events.

The event will have a particular focus on reflecting on and preparing for future widespread bushfires, prolonged heat and smoke and an influx of residents from outlying areas converging on the town centre in an emergency event.

Representatives from the NCN, NSW Fire and Rescue, the Rural Fire Service, the SES and others will be in attendance.

A Q&A panel discussion will cover local risks, what you can do to be ready and how you can link up with others in your neighbourhood to prepare together or to offer or receive help.

A light evening meal will be provided and there will be information stalls with materials and emergency service personnel to help you do up your own emergency plan and prepare your household and property.

This event has been funded by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and the Dorrigo community. The work of the Neighbourhood Care Network is made possible by community fundraising and the Urunga Lions Club.

Note, that this event is slighlty different to Bellingen Shire Council's Dorrigo Disaster Recovery workshop, which occured on Saturday 18th November and had a focus on recovery.
