Psychological First Aid is a support activity that helps people impacted by an emergency, disaster or traumatic event. It is a humane, supportive response to another person who is suffering and may need support. This workshop is suitable for anyone who generally wants a better understanding of how to provide meaningful support during an emergency, disaster or traumatic event. An introduction to the psychosocial impacts of disasters and disaster recovery to assist those working in recovery. This training is suitable for community leaders, customer service staff, recovery managers and community volunteers and aims to support participants to understand the recovery context and how they can help support and lead community recovery.
